*UPDATED*

The B&B Association has released its B&B Week participant pack as momentum builds to the annual promotional week from 18 to 24 March, sponsored by booking technology supplier eviivo.

The trade body is calling upon B&B owners across the country to offer “incredible experiences” throughout National B&B Week. Chairman David Weston explained: “It should be something you wouldn’t usually offer to visitors – and the more unusual the better – from free beauty treatments, to workshops and classes, or even something more unusual – why not try and break a world record? The sky really is the limit!”

Ideas include complimentary champagne on arrival, serving guests breakfast in bed, and offering free entry to local attractions.

The promotion aims to build on the success of last year’s inaugural B&B Day, which attracted widespread celebrity endorsement and helped raise the public profile of B&Bs as the perfect tourist accommodation.

David Weston told Luxury Bed & Breakfast Magazine: “We and the National B&B Week sponsors eviivo are keen for every B&B and guesthouse across the UK to have the chance to take part in National B&B Week and to make the most of the opportunities. I’m sure they will find this ‘participant pack’ really useful. Making National B&B Week a success together will showcase Britain’s brilliant B&Bs and encourage guests to book a characterful B&B rather than a bland and boring chain hotel.”

Ed Goldswain, Marketing Director at eviivo said: “We want to encourage as many people as possible to stay at B&Bs during National B&B Week for a truly unique experience, and we hope to see thousands of B&B owners taking part.

“The participant pack is designed to inspire hosts and owners, encouraging them to get involved in a number of activities. That could include submitting an offer to the National B&B Week website or supporting the Family Holiday Association and their outstanding charitable work by giving families most in need of a break a free stay in their accommodation. However they choose to get involved, we hope the pack proves useful to B&B owners across the country, and look forward to coming together with the wider industry to make National B&B Week a huge success.”
