Berry Bros. & Rudd releases Penny Blue XO #007
Berry Bros. & Rudd is delighted to announce the release of the 7th bottling of Penny Blue XO Rum.
Penny Blue XO #007 is created at the Single Estate Medine Distillery, Mauritius. It is a blend of rums between 7 and 17 years old which are aged in a combination of ex Cognac, ex Sherry and ex Whisky casks. Following the tradition of previous XO releases, it is a limited-edition release with only 6,000 bottles available. It joins the Penny Blue range which consists of Penny Blue VSOP and Penny Blue Single Cask.
The rum masters Doug McIvor and Jean-Francois Koenig hand select casks of perfectly mature rum and blend them together to create Penny Blue XO. Penny Blue XO is released in small batches, with variations on the proportions of different casks. Each batch in the series retains a level of continuity yet is distinct in character; high levels of complexity becoming the hallmark of XO. Penny Blue XO is non-chill filtered and natural in colour.

Nose: Fresh and well balanced with a subtle smoky wood spice and a touch of tobacco. Palate: Mouth-filling and generous, dominated by sweet fruits, wood spice and cooking spices. A very long finish reminiscent of prunes macerated in well-aged rum.
