Miele delivers big features and value for money with its Little Giant commercial washing machine for B&Bs
Miele has today announced the availability of its best-selling ‘Little Giant’ PW5062 commercial washing machine for the B&B market. The machine offers one of the shortest washing cycles of just 49 minutes with a load capacity of 8kg, making it ideal for B&Bs who need to turn around bedding and towels quickly to a high standard.
Known as the Little Giant, the PW5062 can be stacked with a Miele dryer in a space less than 1m2. This means that B&Bs, who often lack the space for a commercial washing machine, can now take advantage of innovative features previously only available to larger businesses and laundries. And its patented frequency-controlled motor ensures that the machine is extremely quiet, even at high spin speeds, so guests won’t be disturbed.
The Miele PW5062 has a drum volume of 59 litres – the equivalent of 8kg load of washing or eight double bed sheets, but its fast wash cycles mean that even the busiest B&Bs can manage their laundry without disruption.
As with all Miele professional washing machines, the Little Giant has been built to last. Unlike many domestic models or even similar commercial machines, each Miele PW5062 has been tested to 30,000 cycles – that’s the equivalent of eight cycles a day, seven days a week, for 10 years.
The Little Giant features Miele’s award-winning Honeycomb drum. This lifts fabrics away from the drum and reduces the likelihood of them being damaged, ensuring each item is treated carefully and gently so garments keep their shape and last longer.
For those who want to wash at specific times, the Little Giant features a delay start button that lets users select in advance when the programme should start. This allows staff to time loads so laundry can be clean ready for when they open.
Sam Bailey, sales and marketing director for the Professional Division of Miele says, “The Little Giant is the perfect machine for B&Bs. Using Miele innovation we’ve been able to bring all the benefits of a fully-featured, professional machine to the B&B market – many of whom will be using domestic machines that don’t have the same life span. A Miele commercial machine is tested to run for 30,000 cycles whereas a domestic machine typically only lasts up to 5,000 washes, so B&B owners won’t need to keep replacing the machine as they potentially do now. Additionally, they can benefit from increased capacity, reduced downtime and better wash quality – all the features you’d expect from Miele, and its quality approach to engineering as well.”
The Miele PW5062 is one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly commercial washing machines available. Its in-built technology ensures that it consumes no more water, energy and detergents than absolutely necessary. It also features recyclable materials and is 95% recyclable itself. Miele has committed to using 5,000 – 7,000 tonnes of recycled plastics by 2025 and opened its Warendorf technical centre in Germany earlier this year to help push innovation in plastics processing.
