FOR EVERY BOTTLE SOLD 20 MEALS WILL BE DONATED TO FEED FAMILIES MOST IN NEED
Mancunian brand Didsbury Gin is partnering with EMERGE 3Rs, a charity that aims to fight food waste and poverty in Greater Manchester, to help feed children and their families most in need. For every bottle of Didsbury Gin’s ‘Manchester Tart’ flavoured gin sold £5 will be donated to EMERGE 3Rs.
EMERGE 3Rs redistributes in-date food to front line charities, community centres, schools and humanitarian initiatives across the city region. £5 will provide up to 20 meals to charities supporting those most in need in Greater Manchester.
The ‘Manchester Tart’ gin is back by popular demand with a brand new look and available to buy from DidsburyGin.com from 1st March. Available for a limited time, the zesty gin sold out in just 7 days when it first launched in 2019.
Inspired by the classic dessert, the unique flavour ‘Manchester Tart’ is a blend of bold flavours of raspberry jam, vanilla and subtle hints of coconut. Like all Didsbury Gin products it combines traditional artisan methods and infusing modern botanicals using a blend of hand peeled fresh citrus, British roots and hand cracked juniper berries. The result is clean, crisp & zesty – good enough to drink neat, perfect with tonic and delightful in cocktails. Didsbury Gin recommends garnishing with raspberries or lemon to really bring the drink to life.
Liam Manton, co-founder of Didsbury Gin, says: “For us, bringing back Manchester Tart was a no brainer, it was such a popular flavour when we originally released it back in 2019. To return it with a purpose, especially that which links to the heritage of the brand, is even more special.
“’Inspired by what Marcus Rashford has achieved recently and having grown up on a council estate in inner city Manchester hearing the news that an estimated two in five children living below the poverty line are not entitled to free school meals made us sit up and listen. We have always been very passionate about charity work, especially that which focuses on the Greater Manchester area. Marcus Rashford’s campaign has inspired us all and combining two of the UK’s favourite things – gin and food – to help provide a solution just makes good sense.
“We are really proud to be working with EMERGE 3Rs to help feed children and their families in the region. Together we believe we can make a real difference in the community and there’s no reason we can’t feed 100,000 families in the region.”
This is not the first time Didsbury Gin has been involved in supporting the local community. During the first lockdown, the brand sprang into action, producing over 2 million bottles of hand sanitiser in just seven days for the NHS, police and care homes. The brand also donated 35,000 items of PPE to Manchester Social Care.
To buy a bottle of Manchester Tart Didsbury Gin, priced at £34.95, and in turn donate £5 to EMERGE 3Rs, shoppers can simply go on to DidsburyGin.com.
